My approach to Ballet Pedagogy
My work is guided by four interrelated principles that support thoughtful, sustainable ballet training
Body-Aware Technique
Anatomy-informed teaching that supports alignment, coordination, strength, and longevity. Technique is apporached with attention to how the body organizes and moves, encouraging sustainable development rather than forcing shapes.
Educational Clarity
Clear learning objectives, level expectations, and outcomes that guide both teachers and students. Precise language and thoughtful communication help dancers understand what they are doing and why.
Sequential Structure
Logical, developmentally appropriate progressions that build skill without rushing readiness. Training unfolds step by step so that strength, coordination, and understanding develop together.
Teaching With Intention
Thoughtful pedagogy, communication, adaptability, and studio culture that support the whole dancer. Teaching decisions consider not only technical goals but also the braoder developmental experience of the dancer.
Together, these principles shape an approach to ballet eduction that values clarity, sustainability, and care for both the art form and the people learning it.
In practice, this framework informs my work with teachers and dancers through workshops, studio consultations, and master classes.
