About Laura…
Laura Morton, MS is a ballet educator, choreographer, and curriculum consultant with over 40 years of experience in professional, pre-professional, and higher education settings. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Applied Exercise Physiology and has served in academic leadership roles in dance education.
Through MORTON DANCE CONSULTING, Laura supports ballet educators in building clear, sustainable training from the foundation up. Drawing on decades of experience in studios and higher education, she helps teachers move beyond inherited guesswork toward pedagogy grounded in technical clarity, developmental readiness and long-term dancer health.
Her work serves studio owners and teachers who care deeply about excellence--and who want the excellence to be both rigorous and sustainable over time
Teaching with Intention
Strong ballet training begins with thoughtful teaching. MORTON DANCE CONSULTING works with ballet educators and studio programs to strengthen technical progression, clarify teaching practices, and support the long-term development of dancers. The goal is not to replace a program’s tradition, but to help teachers build training environments where technique, artistry, and dancer well-being grow together.
